Weather during these autumn months is agreeable, and sunshine is pretty much guaranteed (the average high-temperature is 27°C, and the average low-temperature is 20.9°C).

This will help our friends and colleagues to enjoy their walks around the labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens, where our venue is located.

A short list of hotels for your convenience is found below. This is not a ‘recommended’ list by the organizers, it only refers to a series of hotels, which vary in price, and are convenient owing to their location.

The organizers would recommend, however, that our friends and colleagues give urgent attention towards starting their registration process by firstly booking a hotel, as Athens becomes very overcrowded during this period.

The two Venues of the Symposium are located in Plaka, Athens. Read more about “Athens: Plaka” here: link. “Plaka” is the oldest section of the city of Athens, the nearest one to Acropolis. It seems like an old village within the big city. In the above linked webpage you can also find information about “Hotels in and near the Plaka”.

Plaka’s main street called Adrianou gracefully splits the neighbourhood into two parts – Ano (Upper) Plaka and Kato (Lower) Plaka. The former is almost adjacent to the Acropolis while the latter is located right between Monastiraki and Syntagma (Constitution) square in the heart of Athens.

Plaka and Syntagma are the best places to stay in Athens for first-timers due to their proximity to Athens’ most famous attractions and there are many choices of accommodation.
